Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and crime reporter at WCBD-TV. While in Charleston O'Dell's reporting about the relaxed approach police take towards DUI cases resulted in an State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to State authorities issuing an even more strict directive on these instances. The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years award in the entirety of South Carolina Media. In the years following her stay at Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative journalist. She then became a part of Access Hollywood to work as the weekend and weekday correspondent. O'Dell is the anchor of choice for Access Hollywood. In addition, she contributes to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She has covered such events like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of Pre-ShowArrivals shows for The Emmys and the Golden Globes.
